Katherine Anne "Kitty" Pryde is a mutant character from Marvel Comics, primarily associated with the X-Men. She first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #129 (January 1980).

Kitty possesses the mutant ability to "phase," allowing her to pass through solid matter by shifting her atoms between the spaces of the object she's phasing through. She can also disrupt electronic devices and short-circuit mutant powers. During phasing, Kitty is virtually intangible and immune to physical harm.

Initially joining the X-Men as a teenager, Kitty quickly became a core member, known for her intelligence, resourcefulness, and youthful perspective. Her close friendship with the dragon Lockheed, a sentient alien creature, is a notable aspect of her character. She has also held leadership positions within various X-Men teams.
